On the corner of everywhere

I’m sitting in a Starbucks on Hennepin sipping a vanilla chai latte. It’s a newly acquired beverage, the chai latte. I prefer it with ammeretto, but Starbucks doesn’t have ammeretto. I’m reading a comic book, single issue–it’s only been a few months since I’ve started buying single issues again. I’m sipping my chai, reading issues two of Warren Ellis & Tula Lotay’s fantastic Supreme Blue Rose, and listening to a couple next to me rattling off a conversation the way it only seems possible in Somali. I’m smiling at where the past year has taken me. I’m thinking about the future and all of the things that are coming. Tonight is opening night at my day job. Opening night seems about right.

I’ve got a painting up at the Roseville Blick art supplies store as part of their fall art show.
I will have some paintings displayed in the Dunn Bros coffee shop on Lake and Bryant in Minneapolis (across from Bryant Lake Bowl).
I’ll soon have things for sale online.

It’s all happening.
