the gear

don’t know why wordpress is double posting some of the photos, my Tumblr account didn’t do that.  It also eliminated the text which is really weird.  Anyway, here is the writing to go with the picture …

Also photographed in the periodicals lounge, here is my writing gear: I always carry a messenger bag of some sort, I found this smaller one that fits my notebooks perfectly; my iPod; a large moleskine journalist notebook for story ideas and notes, I also do some scene and dialogue work in it; pocket size journalist notebook, the same, except it’s almost always with me, even when the bag is not; and a moleskine cashiers notebook, a new addition and a relatively inexpensive was for me to write zero draft material. I typically write everything out by hand first and then type it into my laptop. I find I catch myself over-revising when it goes straight into the computer and I lose some of my freewriting ability. Plus, notebooks never need to be charged and are very lightweight and portable. I usually have pens and notebooks for sketching squirreled away as well as a novel … so the little bag is pretty full.
